Benign Colorectal Disease
Which benign colorectal diseases do we treat:
Haemorrhoids
Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Rafaelo procedure
Anal fissure
Treatment of haemorrhoids
Treatment options for haemorrhoids include conservative management which is limited to dietary modification and topical ointments. These have limited benefit and more definitive treatment options include banding, formal haemorrhoidectomy and the new Rafaelo procedures. The Rafaelo procedure is a new procedure which Mr Brennan has been specifically trained to perform. This involves a radio frequency probe inserted into the haemorrhoid under general anaesthetic as a short 15 minute procedure which can be done as a day case procedure. At present this procedure is limited to BMI The Sloane Hospital.
